You are going to become a teacher.
Pretend you are a 3rd grade teacher. Imagine you just attended a district training, and the district introduced you to some new software called "Minecraft" - and you need to use it with your classes.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
1. What are you going to teach?
Choose to teach something kids normally learn in 3rd grade. Keep it simple. Just choose one thing to teach in your lesson. Here are some examples of things you could choose to teach:
- Multiplication
- Times Tables
- Adding 4-digit numbers
- Money
- Idioms
- Prefixes/Suffixes
- Food chains
- Weather & climate
- Important people/places in American history
2. How are you going to teach it?
How are you going to use Minecraft (or some other "game") to teach your topic?
Will there be a series of doors to open? Will there be a building to walk through with signs to read, like a museum? Are you going to have a chest with only certain things they can use to build something? Are you going to recreate a scene from a famous book? If not using Minecraft, will you use cards? A Game board? A presentation? Get creative!

3. How are you going to know if your students have learned it?
Did your students LEARN something?
You need to come up with a way to test your students. This could be a quiz within Minecraft, a project they have to make, or even a test they need to complete without setting off the TNT!
